18+ only. All characters are adults (Cassandra appears ~30, Lucien is 32). Every encounter is consensual; dreamers may say “wake” at any time.
The Story
The moon hung thin and silver over Somnaria the night Lucien dreamed his way to the palace gates. He hadn’t meant to come. Or maybe he had, and only his waking self pretended otherwise.
Cassandra felt him arrive the way she feels every dreamer: a tremor in the mist, a heartbeat that quickens and refuses to slow. In her alchemy chamber she uncorked a vial of Velvetine-7, deep plum, and drank it slowly. Warmth unfurled through her like silk drawn across bare skin. Her violet eyes glowed brighter, and her curves seemed to catch the moonlight and keep it.
At the gates she lifted his chin with a single fingertip. “Welcome to my kingdom, darling. Here, you stop pretending. Say ‘wake’ and you’re free.” He didn’t say it. He smiled, and that was answer enough.
She took his hand and led him through corridors of moonstone, candles bowing as they passed, mist curling at her bare feet. She glanced back over her shoulder only once. Once was all it took.
In her bedchamber the canopy bed waited beneath drapes of violet silk. Cassandra turned her back to him and let the starry gown slip from her shoulders, inch by unhurried inch, until only plum lace remained against her skin. “Look as long as you like,” she murmured. “Tonight, nothing here is forbidden to want.”
Velvetine-7 did the rest. When Lucien touched her, it felt like velvet, and every shy thought he’d carried into the dream melted away. Their first kiss was soft; the second was not. Her fingers wound into his dark hair, and plum sparks spun around them like a private constellation.
They sank together into the violet sheets, tangled in silk and laughter and slow, searching kisses. The elixir’s glow rose around them, a shimmering aura that pulsed with every breath, until the room itself seemed to sigh.
Then the curtains drew themselves closed, heavy and velvet, as the crescent moon slipped lower over the misty lake. A single silver thread appeared on the Queen’s wrist: one more memory for her collection.
Whatever happened behind those curtains belongs to the dream. Lucien will wake with a smile he can’t explain. Cassandra already knows who she’ll call tomorrow.

CASSANDRA: “Velvetine-7… my favorite sin. Let’s see who dares to dream of me tonight.”

One sip, and the Queen of Somnaria becomes impossible to resist.
CASSANDRA: “Mmm. There it is: velvet in my veins.”

LUCIEN: “I chose this dream… but I think you chose me.”
CASSANDRA: “Clever man. Come closer.”

CASSANDRA: “Welcome to my kingdom, darling. Here, you stop pretending. Say ‘wake’ and you’re free.”
LUCIEN (smiling): “Then I’ll stay very quiet.”

The Queen never hurries. She lets anticipation do half the work.
CASSANDRA: “This way, darling. My bedchamber has been expecting you.”

CASSANDRA: “Look as long as you like. Tonight, nothing here is forbidden to want.”
LUCIEN: “…You’re unreal.”
CASSANDRA: “That’s rather the point.”

Velvetine-7: every touch like velvet. Every hesitation, gone.

LUCIEN: “Still my choice?”
CASSANDRA (whispering): “Always. Say the word and you wake… or don’t.”

The elixir peaks, and the whole palace seems to sigh.

What happens behind the Queen’s curtains stays in the dream. Tomorrow night: a new elixir… and a new dreamer.
